• Medal awarded to selected officials/officers.
• Certificate (Scroll) signed by the Union Home Minister.
• National recognition through publication in the Gazette of India (except Intelligence cases).
• Recording of additional achievements through Bars for repeated acts.

1. The applicant should be a member of Police Forces, Security Organizations, Intelligence Wings, or Forensic Science Institutions.
2. The applicant should demonstrate excellence in Special Operation, Investigation, Intelligence, or Forensic Science.
3. The applicant should not have any pending judicial proceedings or departmental enquiry.
4. The applicant should not have received any major penalty in the last 5 years.
5. The applicant should be recommended by the concerned authority.
6. The applicant should not be recommended for multiple fields for the same operation.
7. The applicant should meet specific criteria for the respective field (operation, investigation, intelligence, or forensic work).

Online

The Ministry of Home Affairs invites nominations annually in June.

Step 01: The applicant’s organization prepares and submits nomination. Step 02: The applicant should visit the National Awards Portal (https://www.awards.gov.in) (except the Intelligence field). Step 03: The applicant should register and fill the online application form. Step 04: The applicant should upload all required documents and supporting evidence.

Selection Process

Step 01: The proposals are screened at the State/Organization level by a committee. Step 02: The shortlisted nominations are sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Step 03: A Sub-Committee scrutinizes applications at the central level. Step 04: Final selection is done by a Ministry-level committee.

• Intelligence nominations are submitted in sealed physical form.

The "Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak" scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The scheme aims to recognize excellent work, promote high professional standards, and boost the morale of personnel serving in police forces, security organizations, intelligence units, and forensic science institutions across India.
